Lei Making Class

Kumu Hula Aulii Mitchell of Halau ‘O Kahiwahiwa laua ‘O Aana was trained in the many traditional arts of lei making by his kupuna at the Atherton Halau at the Bishop Museum in 1970’s. He is a Cultural Anthropologist and has many gifts to offer and teach malihini (or visitors) to our lovely islands.  You will not only enjoy his big heart when you are with him, you will find he shares many Hawaiian culture tidbits as you make your won lei.

Gil Kahai


Gil Kahai has had 30+ years experience as a musician, performer, teacher, songwriter and singer. Gil has years of playing and teaching Hawaiian music, Slack-Key, Blues, Rock, Old School and classical music plus teaching music theory, chord structuring, music reading with its rudiments, tablature and by ear. When all is said and done, Gil loves to relax by strumming and playing the island music he grew up with. This Na Hoku Hano Hano winner of 2 awards (for Best Songwriter and for Single of the Year) can teach you to play a song on ukulele or slack key guitar in just one lesson.
